Here are a couple of photos of the process. The round and square stepping stones were just temporary. We had a hard time making plans in our heads and on paper, so we jumped right in and started to play around with what we had so that we could get a sense of what we wanted.

Wow, well done! Your before pictures don't even look like you *have* much of a side yard. Very impressive. Can't wait to see more pics!
ReplyDeleteIt's about ten feet from the wall (which you can't see on the right of the photos) to the retaining wall (which is located where the fence changes from white to brown). There's a two-foot gap between the retaining wall and the neighbour's house. So, yes, it's not much of a side yard, but the one on the other side of the house is even narrower!
